Purpose:
To start new Churches of the Brethren in the Michigan District. New congregations are needed to bring the gospel and Christian community to groups of people and locations where the ministry of existing congregations is not able to effectively reach.
Functions:
￢ Cast the vision of church planting in Michigan
￢ Help existing congregations find ways to participate in this mission
￢ Work with church planters to evaluate and develop project plans
￢ Seek out and encourage persons who may become new church planters
￢ Look for new places and populations in which congregations should be started and find persons who can provide the needed leadership
￢ Develop resources and skills for church planting
￢ Offer coaching for new project leaders
￢ Be the point of accountability for new project leaders
